Add File Extension List to HCM Attachment Framework is not working correctly.  It is not preventing ineligible file extensions from uploading.  All files can be uploaded, which is not correct.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Configure the File Attachment functionality to show the file extensions that are permitted.  No other file extensions should be possible to upload.

Navigate to PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Administer File Processing > File Extension List to access the File Extension List page.

e.g. .doc and .pdf ONLY.  Extension List Type = Absolute.  Save the changes.

  2. Add a new URL Identifier for the HR Attachment page.

Navigate to PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > URLs to access the URL Maintenance page.

Add New Value: HR_ATTACHMENT and its details (Description, URLID).  Save the changes.

  3. Add a new Error Message to message set number 137, message number 62 in the Message Catalog.  Severity = Error.  The message text should be "Add Attachment Failed.  File Extension is not allowed".  Save the changes.

Navigation:  PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Message Catalog

  4. Start an Adoption Life Event for a new test employee.

  5. Progress through the Activity Guide steps to the document upload.

  6. Upload a document with file extension .jpg.

  7. The upload is accepted.
