E-DPK: Very Slow PUM Image DPK Installations Resulting in Abnormally Long Run Times\Timeouts\Freezes (Doc ID 2686211.1)

Symptoms

Extremely slow performance while running the HCM 9.2 PUM 34 DPK setup. The DPK ran for over 15 hours before failing.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps on a server with Active Scanning/Antivirus/Host Intrusion Protection software installed and running:

  1. Download the PUM DPK files.
  2. Run the setup.
  3. Installations runs, very slowly and then fails, or locks up, or times out, or finishes, but takes much longer than it should.
