ABMGT: Issues With Absence Cancellation for Events Entered on Self Service Timesheet (Doc ID 2689585.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 24, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Absence Country Take is set up to:

  1. Allow entry in Time and Labor
  2. Cancellation Method = delete from database
  3. Approval for Pending Request is unchecked (if request is in submitted status, a cancellation will be auto-approved).

If employee enters the event via the Absence Request Tile and subsequently cancels via the Cancel Absence tile, the event is cancelled, deleted from database and no longer visible/accessible for the employee, the approver or the Administrator.

If employee enters the event via the Absence Request push button on the time sheet and subsequently cancels via the Cancel Absence tile, the event appears to be cancelled, however the employee can access via the View Requests tile.  The Administrator can also view/access this event from the Absence Event and Create and Maintain Absences pages. Additionally, depending on the setup of the Time and Labor approvals, this event may be routed to the approver, who will receive an error if he attempts to access/approve.
