PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A student was originally awarded a loan item type -for example a Direct Loan PLUS or Direct Loan Grad PLUS - for an amount over 99,999. The loan successfully originates, however cannot be successfully validated or transmitted due to some of the amounts having been truncated as described in <Note 2414570.1>. The original loan is then canceled and re-awarded with the amounts split up into two or more different and separate item types.
When attempting to then re-run loan origination to cancel the original loan and process the new ones, the original loan fails to adjust, with the following messages indicating a loan integrity error:
"Loan Disb Gross Amounts do not sum to Borrower Rqstd Amount"
"Loan Disb Ant Gross Amounts do not sum to Cert Amt"
"Loan Borr Rqstd Amts do not sum to total Borr Rqstd Amt"
"Loan Certified Amts do not sum to total Cert Amt"
As a result, the new replacement loans do not even get evaluated for processing.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Award loan item type for amount >=100,000
- Originate Loan
- Cancel original item type and re-award into multiple separate item types.
- Re-run loan origination.
