E-IB: Getting "Cannot Establish HTTP Connection" Pinging Remote Node

Information in this document applies to any platform.
While pinging a remote node, the following error is seen.
The issue can be reproduced using the following steps:
1. Log into PIA through a browser, and navigate to PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Integration setup > Nodes.
2. Open the remote node definition.
3. Ping the remote node.
