EPY: How System Calculates Deductions when there is Insufficient Net Pay
(Doc ID 2709583.1)
Last updated on APRIL 15, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
An Employee has a low gross but enough net pay to take some, but not all deductions. An after-tax deduction has the highest priority and is setup as "no partial allowed", so it was not taken on the check. The next highest priority deduction, which is a before-tax deduction, is calculated for a very minimal amount even though it appears the employee has enough net pay to take the full before-tax deduction amount. The deduction calculation is not always working as expected under certain low net conditions.
