EEX 9.2: Project Costing ChartFields Getting Displayed Even if Employee Privilege Template Is Defined as HIDE at the Expense Report View Component
(Doc ID 2740149.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 27, 2020
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The Employee Privilege Template has been defined to hide all Project Costing ChartFields from Accounting Details, and linked to an Expense Role, and an Expenses Profile. When the Employee creates the Expense Report, the PC ChartFields are not being displayed, as per expected. However, they are being displayed when the User is checking the transaction through Expense Report View functionality: Page EX_SHEET_ENTRY, Component TE_EXP_SHEET_INQ.
REPLICATION STEPS:
1.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses Administrator User
2.- Define an Employee Privilege Template with the PC ChartFields feature set as HIDE
3.- Link the new Employee Privilege Template to an Expenses Role
4.- Define the Expenses Role to the Expenses Profile of the Expenses Employee
5.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses User
6.- Create a new Expense Report for the Employee at hand, and submit it for approval. Ensure that the PC ChartFields are not being displayed as per expected.
7.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses Approver User
8.- Approve the Expense Report submitted
9.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses Administrator User
10.- Launch the Expense Processing program with the options of Stage Payments, and Post Liabilities
11.- Create a new Pay Cycle to process the Expense Report created
12.- Launch Payment Selection, Payment Creation, and make sure to set it to Complete Status
13.- Launch the Expense Processing program with the options of Update Paid Statuses, and Post Payments
14.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses User
15.- Go to the Expense Report View component, open the transaction, and confirm that the PC ChartFields are being displayed in the Accounting Details section
To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.
The Employee Privilege Template configuration is being bypassed, and the Expenses Employees are able to see ChartFields they should not have access to on several pages of the Application.
The Online Application should be consistent, and ensure that if security has been put in place by Employee Privilege Template, the ChartFields configure should be displayed across all delivered pages, and those hidden, should not be displayed at all.
