Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Need div Tag, However Peoplesoft HTML use SELECT tag only.

1. How to override the style for these elements in both Classic and Fluid or either ? Few elements in a page (classic or fluid) are not alterable. Such elements include:

a. Select Drop downs - customizing the look like changing the padding between options, color of selected items, etc require the use of DIV tag, but PeopleSoft generated HTML uses SELECT tag which has limited customizable options.
b. Checkbox - here to, customizing the look like changing the BG color or check color requires the uses of DIV tag, but the PeopleSoft generated HTML uses INPUT[type=checkbox] which again has limited customizable option

2. What are the changes in CSS between PT 8.56 to PT 8.58, since customer custom style-sheets not working after PT 8.58 Upgrade?

a. Customer were using PT 8.56, left aligned a page (default look being center aligned) using custom CSS tags like "Position" and "Float" and "left". This was working 8.56 instances however in 8.58, few of the elements did not appear on the Page (even after scrolling full horizontal/vertical space of the page) and required customer to use "right" css tag to make it visible.
