E-PIA: Trace Not Generated When Trace Flags Are Enabled on Tracesql Page or &trace=y (Doc ID 2751470.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 10, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Traces are not generated when Developers set the trace flags on the Trace SQL page or by using &trace=y. Users are allowed to select the trace options and click Save, with no errors presented, but no traces are generated under PS_HOME/appserv/<domain>/LOGS/.

However, enabling the trace SQL option in the psappserv.cfg file creates traces as expected.

Steps to replicate:

  1. Navigate to PeopleTools -> Utilities -> Debug -> TraceSQL
  2. Set Trace Flags
  3. Save

or

  1. Append &trace=y to the login URL
  2. Set the trace flags
  3. Login

Results: No traces are generated under PS_HOME/appserv/<domain>/LOGS/.
