Search Match Poor Performance With Large Results (Doc ID 2755054.1)

Symptoms

If a search/match is conducted with broad criteria that results in a large volume of results, the performance is very poor. In worst case scenarios, the CPU and memory on the server are consumed, resulting in server alarms and severe system performance issues, essentially bringing the system to a halt. 

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Go to Search/Match (Campus Community > Personal Information > Search/Match) and choose the PSCS_CR SEARCH search parameter with a PSCS_CR STNDRD search result code.
  2. Use a Begins With operand on the Last Name Search (which is the defaulted operand).  
  3. Enter "T" in that field and click Search (at the top).
