ETL92: Accessibility Issue In Request Absence Page. (Doc ID 2757069.1)

Last updated on MARCH 02, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

It appears there is an Accessibility on Request Absence page for users with Screen Reader Mode turned on trying to select an absence then change the absence name or just trying to hear a list of possible options in the dropdown list for Absence Name.
This removes the user’s keyboard focus from the dropdown and forces the user to select “Yes” or “no.” This happens every time the user presses an arrow key when keyboard focus is on the “Absence Name” Dropdown or when a user uses first letter navigation to select an absence. Issue happens even if a screen-reader user just wants to hear the list of possibilities for absences.
The issue occurs for both Classic and Fluid.

Message:
The absence name was changed. Some detailed information associated with the modified absence name will be cleared. Would you like to continue?

Steps to Recreate:
1. Select an Absence employee.
2. Login with Screen Reader Mode turned on.
3. Navigate to Request Absence.
4. Select Absence Name (i.e. Sick). Page opens for details.
5. Now change the Absence Name from Sick to Vacation. Note: Above Pop-up message displayed.
