E-AD: App Designer Crashes When App Engine Is Open (Doc ID 2757105.1)

Symptoms

When app engines are open, application designer will crash unexpectedly and requires a reboot. Users are unable to work long times on new app engines or modifying existing ones for too long before it crashes. 

Steps to replicate:
1. Open Application Designer
2. Open an App Engine
3. App Designer will crash by keeping the app engine open.
