Goal
How are Cost Type E and L used?
Cost types represent cost components of an asset and a lease. PeopleSoft extended the cost type configuration specifically for lease accounting.
Rent Expense (Cost type E)
This cost type identifies transactions related to initial direct cost, and payments made at or before lease commencement.
Lease Incentive (Cost type L)
The cost type configured for lease incentive applies to lease incentives received (versus lease incentives receivable, such as rent holidays).
