Adapting Content Item On Person Profile After Making A Field Required Does Not Save The Data (Doc ID 2770203.1)

Last updated on APRIL 20, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Person Profile page the information about the Source of a content item is saved and displayed, but when reentering in the Person Profile the information about the source is missing.
And when adding a new row with the same content item type the system keeps both rows but it should normally only be one row where the history can be consulted.

Steps to replicate the issue:
1. When adding a content item to a Person Profile with field JPM_CAT_ITEM_QUAL blank (because the field is not required for that content section as per profile type configuration), data gets added and saved without problems.
2. Then change the configuration by making the field required and adding a new row on profile type PERSON.
3. Try to change the field from blank to value and click the Save button, the system shows the data about Source is added and saved. However, when returning to search and open the person profile again, the field is empty again which means data were not saved.
This is incorrect and should be adapted in the code so that data gets saved.
4. Also when adding a new row with a new effective date on content item level for that content section, the system behaves inconsistently. Instead of having 1 row with the historic data, the system displays 2 rows.
