CSCBLBLD.BAT Runs to Success but Does not Compile the INAS Programs for the Most Recent Year(s) (Doc ID 2776544.1)

Last updated on MAY 17, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When running CSCBLBLD to compile for changes delivered in the INAS COBOL, the process runs to success, but one or more of the latest year's INAS files are not compiling.

As an example: the program is expected to compile all aid years through 2022, but the compile log shows that it stops with aid year 2021.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run the CSCBLBLD.bat compile routine. (Note: the specific steps for this are not noted, as they are outside the scope of this document. See <Note 2515758.1> for more information on the detailed steps to compile INAS.
  2. When completed, find the CSCBLBLD.log file in the compile directory, and open in a text editor and confirm no errors are displaying. If there is an error, then the issue is likely different from the one covered in this document.
  3. Search for the string 'COMPILE INTAX' which will likely return multiple results like the following: 'COMPILE INTAX20.GNT'.
  4. Note the number of the *last* such reference in the file, which will indicate the latest aid year compiled. For INAS programs, this number represents the *first* part of the aid year, so in the example above, '20' refers to aid year 2021.

The error is usually/typically seen after applying a new patch that delivered updates to the INAS programs, requiring INAS to be re-compiled for the latest aid year(s).
