E-PC: Intermittently Page Save Fails With No Error (Doc ID 2780571.1)

Last updated on JUNE 02, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 to 8.56 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a user tries to save a page, nothing happens. Changes are not saved to the database and no error is thrown on the PIA screen leading to confusion if the Save is successful or not. Rebooting the application server domains by clearing the cache resolves the issue. After some time, it starts happening again.

For easier replication of the issue, User Profile password change page is used. When mismatched passwords are provided for new password and confirm new password, we expect an error message on the screen when trying to perform a Save. But in this case, nothing like that comes up confirming that the issue exists. This issue can happen on any page where there is an additional popup window in play either to throw an error or asking for confirmation before saving the changes.
