PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Receivables - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Collections Workbench is out of balance between invoices and payments, so where the additional amount may be coming from?

Customer business scenario:
- two Customer accounts that are off one by -100.00$ and the other -596.40$ and cannot find where the variance is. All invoices and payments tie out with each other.

Navigation: Financials > Accounts Receivable > Collections Workbench
Customer A– prior to current billing, this customer carried a (-100.00$) balance – there is a variance of (-100.00$) between Balance and Past Due field amounts.

Navigation: Financials>Accounts Receivable>Customer Accounts>Customer Information>Customer Activity
Item Activity downloaded to excel spreadsheet shows the Sum of Entry Amount, which is the Past Due Amount, but the Balance Amount is 100.00$ less.

Navigation: Financials > Accounts Receivable > Collections Workbench
Customer B – carries a (– 596.40$) balance and 0.00 Past Due amount, so there is no Past Due amount.

How the Balance is calculated and how it can be updated on the CUST_DATA - BAL_AMT field - since we have neither outstanding invoices, nor outstand payments - if we just sent that to 0 will the balance calculate correctly in the future?
