Symptoms

Incorrect Net Book Value/Depreciation after Asset Addition, Transfer, Book Adjustment, and Inter Unit Transfer


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Add a New Asset with Useful Life = 47 TRANS_DT = 01-AUG-19/ACCOUNTING_DT = 22-AUG-19
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Owned Assets > Express Add
2. Transfer the Asset to a different set of chartfields(Department/Project) TRANS_DT = 01-OCT-20/ACCOUNTING_DT = 01-OCT-20
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Financial Transactions > Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset
3. Perfor Book Adjustment and Change the Useful Life to 14 using CALCULATION_TYPE = Life-to-Date TRANS_DT = 31-OCT-20/ACCOUNTING_DT = 25-DEC-20
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Asset Book Information > Define Tax/Depr Criteria
4. InterUnit Transfer the Asset to a new Business Unit TRANS_DT = 31-OCT-20/ACCOUNTING_DT = 25-MAR-21
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Financial Transactions > Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset
5. Review the Depreciation/Net Book Value
Navigation: Asset Management > Depreciation > Review Depreciation Info > Asset Depreciation

Actual SUM(DEPRECIATION) = -520,02
Expecting SUM(DEPRECIATION) = 0
