EPY: Paycheck Modeler Is Missing 401k Deduction After Calculating the Check (Doc ID 2794979.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Paycheck Modeler is dropping the 401k employee deduction when a change is made to another employee deduction but the 401k employee deduction is not changed.

If a change is made to the employee 401k deduction and the check is calculated, the 401K employee deduction calculates correctly and still exists.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Set up regular earnings to not add to any special accumulator balances.

Navigation:  Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Table

  1. Set up a special accumulator for a 401 earnings base.

Navigation:  Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Special Accumulator Table

  1. Set up an earnings code as an earnings base for the 401 special accumulator that does not add to gross pay.

Navigation:  Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Table

  1. Set up savings plans to use the special accumulator for the 401 earnings base.

Navigation:  Set Up HCM > Product Related > Base Benefits > Plan Attributes > Savings Plan Table

  1. Set up additional pay for the employee using the earnings code for the 401 earnings base specifying hours.

Navigation: Payroll for North America > Employee Pay Data USA > Create Additional Pay

  1. Confirm check for employee to include general deductions, 401K employee and employer deductions and additional pay for 401 earnings base.

Navigation:  Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Produce Payroll > Review Paycheck

  1. Open the Paycheck Modeler

Navigation:  Payroll for North America > Payroll Process USA > Paycheck Modeling > Paycheck Modeler

  3. On Step 7 (Results) Review the Calculated Pay Check Modeler Check for the 401(k) deduction.
