Adding Unique Student Identifier (USI) for a Student Results in Java Exception Error JAVA.LANG.NOCLASSDEFFOUNDERROR

Symptoms
When attempting to add a USI for student or ID, after filling in the Student Unique Identifier field and tabbing out of the field, the following error displays in the application:
The noted error is encountered while looking for the given java class. Possible errors include a misspelling of the class name, or not having the location of the class file in the CLASSPATH.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Navigate to Campus Community -> Personal Information (Students) -> Biographical (Student) -> Personal Attributes -> USI -> USI
- Click Add a New Value.
- Put in an ID value e.g. AA0001.
- Click Add button.
- Fill in Unique Student Identifier field, tab out, and note the error displayed on the page.
