On Health Benefit Election Page, Primary Care Provider (PCP) from Former Plan Entered in PCP ID Field When New Dependent Is Covered under a New Plan (Doc ID 2810901.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM eBenefits - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An employee is currently enrolled in a Medical Plan that requires selection of a Primary Care Provider (PCP). In Open Enrollment, when the employee opens the election page for Medical, the current Plan is selected and the current PCP displays in the PCP ID field. If the employee changes the selected Plan to a different Plan that requires no PCP, the field immediately clears. If, however, the employee then elects to add a dependent that was not covered under the previous Plan to coverage under that new Plan, the PCP ID field is again populated with the original number.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

     1. Employee opens the Medical election page. The current Plan is selected and Primary Care Provider ID is pre-entered on the page.
     2. Employee changes their selection to a different Plan. The PCP ID field clears.
     3. Employee selects a dependent to be covered (one not previously covered) in the new plan. The PCP number displays in the PCP ID field.
