E-PIA: Some Pages are not Rendered Correctly in Chrome 91 Browser (Doc ID 2811145.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 19, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Alignment of labels and text fields displays differently in Chrome 91compared with prior versions. Numerous fields now appear misaligned to the end users. This seems to be a particular problem with display only text fields.

The release notes for Version 91 of Chrome are: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7679408#86&zippy=,chrome

and include the following:

"Chrome uses updated table rendering

Chrome 91 updates the way it renders tables on web pages. This change fixes known issues and brings Chrome closer to the behavior of other browsers, so we expect the impact to be minimal. However, you should test important workflows in your environment for unexpected issues. A full explainer is available here."

The issue can be reproduced at will on multiple delivered pages. For example, use following steps:
1. Login in PIA
2. Go for example to: root > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data
3. Inspect the page and see rendering issues
