EEX 9.2: Fluid Expense Report Creation Gets Stuck With Business Purpose, Description, and Expense Report Action Fields in Red Highlighting (Doc ID 2811701.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 04, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A problem has been detected at the Expense Report creation page in Fluid User Interface (Page EX_SHEET_HDR_FL). If the Employee by mistake leaves the Expense Report Header Business Purpose field blank, or the Business Purpose and Description fields in blank, and selects an option from the Expense Report Action drop down list, the system will throw an Error Message stating that Description Field requires a value to continue. However, after the User enters the needed values, and tabs out, the below behavior is observed:

a.- The Expense Report Header Business Purpose, and Description fields remain highlighted in red, even though a value is now present
b.- The Expense Report Action field remains also highlighted in red, and re-selecting the option of 'Add Expense Lines' is not triggering the expected outcome to go to the Expense Report Line details page

This system behavior is taking place even after applying the fix from <Bug 32503160> (EX: Usability Issue When Expense Report Does Not Have A Required Field Populated), whose fix was delivered within FSCM 9.2 Image #40.

REPLICATION STEPS:

1.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses Employee
2.- Navigate to the Employee Self Service Fluid Homepage
3.- Click on the Expenses Tile
4.- Click on the Create Expense Report Tile
5.- At the Expense Report Header creation page, leave Business Purpose, and Description fields empty
6.- Select the option of 'Add Expense Lines' from the Expense Report Action drop down
7.- The system throws an Error Message stating that both Business Purpose and Description are required fields
8.- Click OK on the Error Message
9.- Enter a value in both Business Purpose, and Description fields, and tab out
10.- ISSUE: The Business Purpose, Description, and Expense Report Action fields remain highlighted in red, and re-selecting the 'Add Expense Lines' value from the drop down on Expense Report Action is not triggering any further steps

The exact same scenario can be tested, but filling the Description field, and leaving the Business Purpose field empty. The outcome is the same.

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.
