Items Matching Special Request Detail Page Displays Unassigned Catalog items when the Role Action SPECIAL_REQUEST_SEARCH is Assigned to the User (Doc ID 2812590.1)

Items Matching Special Request Detail displays unassigned catalog items when the Role Action SPECIAL_REQUEST_SEARCH is assigned to the user


Note : In the replication steps, user details/company name/address/email/ telephone number all represent a fictitious sample from the Oracle Demo Vision Database. Any similarity to actual companies or actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and is in no way intentional on the part of Oracle.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigate : PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles
    Add "ePro Requester" to VP1
2. Enable Role Action SPECIAL_REQUEST_SEARCH for ePro Requester
    Navigate : Setup Financials/Supply Chain > Product Related > Procurement Options > Purchasing > Requester Setup > VP1
    Check Use Only Assigned Catalogs and assign COMPUTER EQUIPMENT Catalog
3. Navigate : Items > Define Items and Attributes > Define Item
    Create new Item with “Chassis” description – CAMPING category
    Enter Standard price
    Add Vendor and Description “DESKTOPS Chassis – Camping” 
4. Navigate : eProcurement > Administer Procurement > Maintain Overall System Options > eProcurement Installation Options
    Select Category Search Type : Search Engine
    Click Search Settings
    Item Description is selected on Special Request Search Options section
5. Navigate : PeopleTools > Search Framework > Search Admin Activity Guide > Schedule Search Index
    Run Build Search Index for Search Definition EP_PV_MASTERITEMVENDOR_SD
6. Navigate : eProcurement tile > Create Requisition
    Search “Chassis”
    The new item is not displayed because it does not belong to the COMPUTER EQUIPMENT catalog. This is correct.
    Add special request item with CAMPING
Issue 1 : System allows the requester to use the unassigned category.
Issue 2 : A new item that does not belong to the COMPUTER EQUIPMENT is displayed
