Aid Year Rollover Process FA_AID_YEAR Excludes Repackaging Plans That Don't Involve a Specific Item Type(s) Such as 'Validate Entire Package' (Doc ID 2814680.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 18, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the Aid Year Rollover (Aid Year Setup) application engine process FA_AID_YEAR with the Packaging Tables option checked, some repackaging plans are being excluded and not rolled over. The repackaging plans that are missed are those that do not involve a specific item type, for example 'Validate Entire Package'.

Repackaging plans such as 'Validate Item Type', that do have a specific item type(s) defined, are processed correctly.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Navigate to Set Up SACR > Product Related > Financial Aid > Awards > Repackaging Plan > Repackaging Plan for the aid year that the rollover will copy from (e.g. 2022).
  2.  Set up a plan that incorporates the rule 'Validate Entire Package'.
  3.  Navigate to Set Up SACR > Product Related > Financial Aid > Aid Year > Aid Year Setup.
  4.  Populate the parameters, including from 'From' and 'To' Aid Years (e.g. 2022 and 2023) and checking the 'Packaging Tables' box.
  5.  Run the process.
  6.  Repeat step 1, navigating to 2023 and the same Repackaging Plan. Note the 'Validate Entire Package' rule is missing.

Changes

The issue appears related to code changes delivered in the resolution for <Bug 27330205> - AID YEAR ROLLOVER CREATES ORPHAN DATA IN FA ITEM TYPE TABLES. See additional information in the next section.
