The Create 834 Edi File Process Does Not Use the Correct Enrollment Date When Configured With Include DTP 348 for Terms (Doc ID 2819285.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

For an employee who historically enrolled in the reporting Medical plan, changed plans, and subsequently enrolled in the reporting plan again, the Create 834 EDI File process does not use the correct enrollment date when Include DTP 348 for Terms is configured on the Vendor table.  The termination for current enrollment reported a begin date for the earliest enrollment even though the employee was not always enrolled in that same plan.

Replication Steps:
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Enroll the employee in the reporting medical plan 1/1/2001.  Navigation:  Benefits > Enroll in Benefits > Health Plan Enrollment.
  2. Enroll the employee is a different medical plan 1/1/2005.  Navigation:  Benefits > Enroll in Benefits > Health Plan Enrollment.
  3. Enroll the employee in the reporting medical plan 1/1/2019.  Navigation:  Benefits > Enroll in Benefits > Health Plan Enrollment.
  4. Run the Create HIPAA EDI 834 File process and the begin date will be 1/1/2001 instead of 1/1/2019.  Navigation:  Benefits > Interface with Providers > Create HIPAA EDI 834 File.
