E-508: No Indicator for Instructions on Forms Created Through the Form and Approval Builder (Doc ID 2820122.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There is no indicator on a form created through Form and Approval Builder that has instructions. When a user opens a fluid form using only the keyboard, the user has to back out of the fluid form to access the instructions in the action list. This is also assuming that the keyboard user knows the form has instructions.

Steps to replicate:

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Components > Forms > Design a Form
  2. Add a new value
  3. Continue to step 2 and add instructions to the form
  4. Publish and activate the form
  5. Navigate to the new form
  6. The instructions are not visible on the form
  7. Using Shift + Tab, navigate back up to the Actions List
  8. Open Actions list and select Instructions.

Here the user can access the instructions for the form. But the user has to know that the form includes instructions and has to know to find them in the actions list. There are no other indicators on the page to let the user know that there are instructions or where to find them.
