E-AWE: Database Deadlocks Occurring when Approving Workflow Transactions (Doc ID 2827530.1)

Customer is seeing database deadlocks on the AWE tables when approving/denying transactions.  The application server log shows the following error:

Sample environment:
PeopleTools: 8.58.09
HCM 9.2 PUM 37
MS SQL Server 2017
Production environment

Steps to replicate:

1. Log into PIA via a browser, and navigate to any AWE process e.g. in this particular scenario it is Time Reporting (Home > Manager Self Service > Time Management > Approve Time and Exceptions > Reported Time > Approve Reported Time)
2. Review the submitted transaction as needed
3. Click either the Approve or Deny button
