Last updated on DECEMBER 13, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After having implemented the Enhancement Request delivered through <Bug 31741005> - (ENH: PSFTEX-1128 FLUID ER AND APPROVALS: INCORPORATE PRIVILEGE TEMPLATE FUNCTIONALITY FROM CLASSIC), which brings the Privilege Template configuration logic into Fluid Approvals for Expense Reports, several inconsistencies have been detected with the Fluid Approvals Expense Report Header Attachments page (EX_ER_ATTCH_HR_SCF), when this one is being accessed through the Expense Report Header icon available at the top left hand corner from the Fluid Expense Summary page:

a.- Missing the CANCEL button on the top left hand side of the page
b.- Missing the DONE button on the top right hand side of the page
c.- Wrong display of 2 X icons at the top right hand side of the page (Probably a wrong display of the Cancel and Done buttons mentioned earlier, without proper codeline being triggered)
d.- Leaving the page, does not save the latest uploaded file(s), loosing any changes performed

This is replicable when the Approver User logged into Fluid Approvals for the Expense Report, has in its Privilege Template the configuration of 'Attachments = Add'.

It is important to note that if the Fluid Approvals Expense Report Header Attachments page (EX_ER_ATTCH_HR_SCF), is accessed via the Expense Report Header icon available at the top left hand corner from the Fluid Expense Entry page (Line Details), then the Cancel and Done buttons display correctly, along with its underlined validation logic.

REPLICATION STEPS:

1.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as an Expenses Approver User
2.- Load the Employee Self-Service Fluid Homepage
3.- Click on the Fluid Approvals Tile
4.- Once at the Pending Approvals page, click to open one of the submitted Expense Reports
5.- At the Fluid Approval Expense Report page, click on the Expense Details link
6.- At the Fluid Expense Summary page, click on the General Information icon (pencil icon at the top left hand side of the page, next to Employee's Name)
7.- Once at the Fluid Approvals Expense Report Header page, click on the Receipt Attachments button
8.- The Attachments page (EX_ER_ATTCH_HR_SCF) is displayed
9.- Click on the Add Attachment button
10.- On the File Attachment sub-page, click on the My Device icon
11.- Select the file to be uploaded
12.- Click on the Upload button
13.- Once the upload is marked as complete, click on Done button
14.- It is at this stage that the issues appear at the Fluid Approvals Expense Report Header Attachments page (EX_ER_ATTCH_HR_SCF)
              a) CANCEL button is missing
              b) DONE button is missing
              c) Instead, 2 X icons are being displayed at the top right hand side of the page
              d) Any newly added file(s) do not get properly stored upon leaving the page

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.

Although the configured Privilege Template for the Approvers allows Users to add new file attachments if needed into the submitted Expense Reports, (at the Header level), the functionality will not allow any saving of such changes. As such, new documentation is not stored at the transaction Header level, delaying the process of approvals, and potentially the reimbursements pending to Employees and/or Credit Card Suppliers.

The Fluid Approvals Expense Report Header Attachments page (EX_ER_ATTCH_HR_SCF) should display both Cancel and Done buttons in the proper sections, and allow Approver Users to upload new files if necessary.

NOTE: In the images/screenshots/examples mentioned and/or the attached document, user details / company name / address / email / telephone number represent a fictitious sample (based upon made up data used in the Oracle Demo Vision instance).  Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
