E-COB: COBOL Compile Process Is Not Clearing The Target Cblbin Directory (Doc ID 2832430.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 10, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.50 and later
Generic Linux
Generic UNIX

Sample Environment:
Tools 8.57.23
HCM 9.2 PUM 24
Linux platform

After removing a COBOL file from the source directory and recompiling the COBOL programs using pscbl.mak script, it was found that the target cblbin directory still had the compiled version of the removed COBOL file.

Steps to replicate:

This reported issue can be replicated in any release/environment.
1) Compile COBOL programs using pscbl.mak script.
2) Once the COBOLs are compiled, remove a cobol program file (e.g PTPDBTST.cbl) from the COBOL source directory and rerun pscbl.mak. The target cblbin directory will still contain the PTPDBTST.gnt from the previous compile.

Expected Behaviour:
The pscbl.mak should delete all files in the cblbin folder before compiling / recompiling the COBOL source. This would ensure that the cblbin directory is in sync with the COBOL programs in the source directory.
