Course Catalog Search Page Displays 'No matching values were found.' When Using Catalog Nbr to Filter Existing Courses that Should Display in the Search Results (Doc ID 2850239.1)

Symptoms

On the course catalog search page, a partial search using the 'Catalog Nbr' field and the default parameter 'begins with', results in the page displaying 'No matching values were found.' In these cases, the courses are known to exist exist and should be returned in the results. 

For example, a search is attempted using 'begins with' 6. No results are returned, but a different search not using 'Catalog Nbr' returns the result 600E.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Course Catalog: Navigator > Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog
  2. Search using Academic Institution, Subject Area and Catalog nbr criteria. Full Catalog number used - e.g. 600 E.
  3. Note result displayed in the search list.
  4. Search using Academic Institution, Subject Area and Catalog nbr criteria. Partial Catalog number used. e.g. begins with 6
  5. Note the message displayed on the page saying no matching values found.
