Transaction Management SCC_SL_SMSET Performance is Slow When Processing for Admissions Applications (Doc ID 2851373.1)

Symptoms

When running the Transaction Management Process, SCC_SL_SMSET Application Engine, performance is very slow. For example, in one reported case, the processing of 529 applications was observed to take 3.5 hours. 

The process should be running much faster, per transaction, in order to be able to complete expected larger volume processing, during peak periods, in an efficient and reasonable amount of time.  

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1.  Navigate to Student Admissions > Application Transaction Mgmt > Transaction Management Process, and run the process. 
  2.  Observe the Process Monitor, and once the process completes, click 'Details' link to verify the process start and end time.
