Symptoms

When attempting to deploy the midtier in silent mode, the DB listener port is not picked up from the response file, instead the default port (1521) is used. In scenarios where the default port (1521) is already used, DPK deployment fails at the step:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create the following response file for PUM install:
    E.g. /opt/response/midier_response.txt

    Example of response file content:
       env_type=midtier
       db_platform=ORACLE
       psft_base_dir=<base_dir>
       user_home_dir=/home
       db_name=<db_name>
       db_service_name= <db_service_name>
       db_host=<db_host>
       db_protocol=<db_protocol>
       db_port=1522
       ###truncated.

2. Run the DPK setup psft-dpk-setup.sh from command prompt with administrator access rights.
    E.g. ./psft-dpk-setup.sh --silent --response_file=/opt/response/midier_response.txt

3. The error occurs at the step "Configuring Pre-Boot PeopleSoft Environment:"

    Starting the Default Initialization of PeopleSoft Environment:
    Setting up System Settings: [ OK ]
    Deploying PeopleTools Components:  [ OK ]
    Setting up PeopleSoft OS Users Environment: [ OK ]
    Setting up PeopleSoft Application Server Domain: [ OK ]
    Setting up PeopleSoft Process Scheduler Domain: [ OK ]
    Setting up PeopleSoft PIA Domain: [ OK ]
    Changing the Passwords for the Environment: [ OK ]
    Configuring Pre-Boot PeopleSoft Environment: [FAILED]
