External Award Staging Process Runs to 'No Success' with Error 'Missing value for required field SFA_EA_REPORT_CD on staging table SFA_EASTAGE_DTL' in SFA_EA_STAGE .Stdout File (Doc ID 2852092.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2022

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to load an external award file to staging via the SFA_EA_STAGE Application Process, the process ends in 'No Success', with the following error shown in the .stdout file.

Note that some of the exact numbers in the message may vary with each instance; for example, it's not known if row 99 will always be indicated, or if that will vary depending on the file.

The issue does not occur in all instances, but only once the file reaches a certain size.  The issue can be worked around by breaking down the problem file down into several smaller files, but that is not desirable as the solution, as it is time consuming and cumbersome.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > External Awards > Process External Award File > External Award Staging Process.
  2. Click link to 'Process Monitor' and note when the process ends in 'No Success' status.
  3. Click Details link, then the link that says 'View Log/Trace', then the file in the file list with SFA_EA_STAGE in the name, and ending in extension .stdout. Note the error message in the file.
