E-ES: 'This site can't provide a secure connection' and 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: invalid version format' (Doc ID 2854260.1)

Symptoms

After having enabled SSL for Elasticsearch, one is unable to access the Elasticsearch URL: https://myelasticsearchserver:port/ 

and encounters the below error:

'This site can't provide a secure connection'

 Meanwhile, the  ESCLUSTER.log (navigation: ES_HOME/pt/elasticsearch7.0.0/logs) shows:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: invalid version format: ÀA!=_U'VÊÕ.0Ù:� at io.netty.handler.codec.http.HttpVersion.(HttpVersion.java:121) ~[netty-codec-http-4.1.32.Final.jar:4.1.32.Final]
