A custom Application Engine (AE) program began crashing intermittently with errors such as the shown below. While investigating the cause, it was found that the size of some SQL statements in the AE's SQL actions had been increased, and were larger than 32 KB.

Samnple environment:

PeopleTools (PT) 8.57.12

HCM 9.20 PUM 35

Database: DB2

Steps to replicate:

1. Set up an AIX environment with a DB2 database.

2. Log into Application Designer, and create a custom AE program with SQL actions containing SQL statements larger than 32 KB.

3. Run the AE program through Process Scheduler (Navigation: PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Schedule Process Requests (PT 8.59)).

4. Observe the crashing behavior.

Some SQL statements grew in size, and were larger than 32 KB.
