EGL: Error Trying to Load Journal From CSV File Using Flat File Journal Import (GL_JRNL_IMP) -- Invalid Business Unit Value / SOURCE is Required (Doc ID 2865189.1)

Symptoms

When trying to run the Flat File Journal Import (GL_JRNL_IMP) process to load a journal from a csv flat file, which is comma delimited, and File Layout Format = CSV for File Layout = GL_JRNL_IMPORT, process completes with a Run Status = Warning. The Log file has an error that the Business Unit is invalid, and the SOURCE and the Field (Account) are required even though the SOURCE and ACCOUNT fields are populated in the flat file.


STEPS

1. In Application Designer, open File Layout = GL_JRNL_IMPORT
2. Double click on GL_JRNL_IMPORT
3. Change File Layout Format from FIXED to CSV
4. Double click on JRNL_HDR_IMP
5. Delete the letter 'H' from the File Record ID field
6. Click OK
7. Answer Yes to the question -- Increment start positions for all fields? (118,14)
8. Double click on JRNL_LN_IMP
9. Delete the letter 'L' from the File Record ID field
10. Click OK
11. Answer Yes to the question -- Increment start positions for all fields? (118,14)
12. Click Save All
13. Access the Preview tab
14. Click Browse and select the csv formatted file to be uploaded
15. Click on the drop down for Segment Name and select JRNL_HDR_IMP
16. Preview shows that the file is formatted correctly and the SOURCE field is populated with a valid value
17. Select Segment Name = JRNL_LN_IMP
18. Preview shows that the file is formatted correctly and the ACCOUNT field is populated with a valid value
19. Navigate to General Ledger > Journals > Import Journals > Import Flat File Journals
20. On the Flat File Journal Import Request page, add the csv file from Step 14
21. Run Flat File Journal Import (GL_JRNL_IMP)
22. Process ends with Run Status = Warning
23. Log file has the above errors
