Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

After upgrading to PeopleTools (PT) 8.59.08 / HCM PUM 41, a '14155551234' hardcoded phone number began appearing in several locations, and the following questions are being asked.

Qn1: What is the purpose of this '14155551234' hardcoded phone number in the 'My Preferences' Number for Text messages?
The same number appears in PeopleCode in the following four locations as well:

PTPN_PUBLISH PublishToWindow OnExecute
PTNOTIFICATIONS PTNotification OnExecute
PTNC_UTILITY UserDataMapping OnExecute
PTPN_USER_PREF Activate

End users will be confused to see a phone number that is not their own.

Qn2: Why wasn't xxxxxxxxxxx used as in earlier releases, or '0000000000', or something generic?
The actual phone number put in as part of the upgrade scripts and included hardcoded in PeopleCode may cause concerns from end users who, for security purposes, have been trained to notice and report what appears to be errant data.
