GP/AM: Previous Value Accumulator (PREV_VAL_ACUM) Does Not Persist/Resets to Zero Under Certain Conditions
(Doc ID 2872680.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Global Payroll/Absence Management 9.2. The System Element PREV_VAL_ACUM (Previous Value Accumulator) does not persist/resets to zero under certain conditions.
- Absence Entitlement Balance accumulators (Setup HCM>Product Related>Global Payroll and Absence Management>Elements>Supporting Elements>Formulas) are configured to carry over balances to a new reporting period (calendar/fiscal/quarter, etc).
- The calculation of the end-of-reporting period calendar correctly converts the balance to the new period and stores the data to a system element called PREV_VAL_ACUM.
- During the processing of the new reporting period calendar, an employee is given a job data change, retroactive to the old period.
- When this current calendar is calculated, the retro process recalculates whatever older calendars fell within the date range of the retroactive job data change, to the current period.
- This process (erroneously) resets the PREV_VAL_ACUM to zero and wipes out the carry over balance
