E-PUM: Cannot access Samba shared drive folder from Windows 2019 and higher certified versions (Doc ID 2874873.1)

Last updated on JUNE 13, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 to 8.59 [Release 8.4]
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

Install the VirtualBox or Native OS-Linux version of a PeopleSoft Application Update Image.

On a Microsoft Windows 2019 or higher certified version client machine, try to access the tools_client, pi_home, or ps_app_home directory. These directories are set up on the VirtualBox VM or Linux host as Samba shared drive directories.

You see an error message such as: "You can't access this shared folder because your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access. These policies help protect your PC from unsafe or malicious devices on the network."
