Symptoms

When attempting to perform a DPK setup of PeopleTools on Linux using the default Middle Tier deployment method, the following error occurs when the DPK script tries to configure the user esadm1.

 

 

 The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run the DPK setup script to install the Middle Tier software and domains.
  2. Proceed through the DPK setup prompts to complete the installation.
  3. The DPK setup fails when attempting to create/configure the PeopleSoft user esadm1
