Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When testing the new functionality in navigation: General Ledger -> Journals -> Process Journals -> Upload Journal Attachment there are a number of problems and errors depending on the steps taken.  Please see below errors:

Error 1:

Steps
1) Add an attachment to a journal – click on ‘Multiple File Attachment’ to open up the checkbox.

1A) “Select for Multiple Attachment” in search results. Click on 1 journal

1B) Click on Attach Files to Multiple Journals link

2) Click on Add Attachment to add. Click on OK when added.

3) Attachment shows added Do NOT click on save. Get out of the page. (Say ok to not saving when the message comes up.)

4) Go back to the page and search for for the same BU/journals.

Problem 1: Attachment still shows for the journal – but it was never saved.

Journal should not show having an attachment if the user did not save the page when originally adding the attachment.

5) Click on the attachment – with the assumption that since it says there is one – that there really is one.

2nd problem: Get ‘Reference Not Found’ message.

5A) Click OK on the page to return to the main page.

6) On the main page click on journal ID.

7) You are taken to create/update journals - header page.

3rd problem: The journal shows there is an attachment, but this is not correct as on the Upload page you never saved. Click on attachment.

8) Get file reference not found error again.

8A) Click on the minus sign to delete.

8B) Click ok on message asking if you can delete the attachment.

4th problem: Get a message stating you can’t delete an attachment because the journal is posted. You shouldn’t get this message for an attachment that doesn’t exist.

9) Use General Ledger -> Journals -> Create Journals -> Create/Update Journals to search for a journal that is in Edit Required status. (so not posted)

10) Go back to upload attachments and search for that journal.

11) Add an attachment, and don’t save it – just like we did before. Get out of the page and get back in. Then click on the attachment

12) Click OK to delete. Non-existent attachment was deleted.

Problem 5: How can you delete an attachment that doesn’t exist?

13) Now save the page – since getting out of the page previously left a ‘ghost’ attachment.

Problem 6: Get error. Shouldn’t get an error. Click OK on error to go back to main page.

14) Note that attachment now shows 0 Click on journal id.

Problem 7: Note that journal still shows there is an attachment – but you deleted it on the previous page.

15) Click on the attachment.

16) Click on the minus sign to delete the row.

17) Click ok on the confirmation message asking if you want to delete it.

18) Page shows the row was deleted – click ok to return to the journal header page.

19) Click to save the journal.

Problem 8: Get the error received previously.

20) Click OK and go back to the upload journal page. (the tab is still open)

21) Still shows there is no attachment.

22) Go to a different page (anyone).

Problem 9: You get a message asking if you want to save the changes – but you can’t save the changes as seen previously because you get an error – and now it wants to know if you want to save. It shouldn’t ask if you want to save – if you get an error when saving.

23) Click no to get out of the page.

24) Go back to journal upload. Search for the same journal again.

Problem 10: Attachment is still associated to the journal – but you deleted it before.

25) Click on the journal again. Attachment still shows on journal too.

Problem 11: Attachment is still associated to journal.

26) Go back to main page and search on a new BU (suggest you use US004 to replicate the exact issue) Click on the 2nd journal in the list. Note that it takes you to the header tab of the actual journal. (this is correct)

27) Now go to the Upload journal attachment page again and click on the first journal in the list.

27) It takes you to a search page – so click on search at the bottom of the page. Get message stating that there are no matching values.

Problem 12: Why is the journal listed on the Upload Journal attachments page if it does not exist? (This issue may be related to corrupt data in the test DB - but was noted to development in case there was a real issue.)

Please see replication steps here.
