E-PORTAL: Component Is Not Recognizing Content Reference Additional Parameter Values For WorkCenter Link (Doc ID 2880459.1)

Last updated on JULY 05, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using PT 8.58 version, Portal Technology:

Project Costing WorkCenter has a Link defined that launches a Content Reference that has an additional parameter defined in the Content Reference. When the component opens after clicking the WorkCenter link the component is not recognizing the additional parameter value.

The Content Reference points to a component, and the additional parameter is meant to take the user directly into the form when clicking the Add tab on the component search page.  The defined Content Reference works properly when navigating using the main portal navigation, but it does not work properly from the WorkCenter link. This issue does not exist in PUM 19, but it does exist in PUM 37. In PUM 19 the URL for the WorkCenter link is formed with a question mark ("?") between URL parameters whereas in PUM 37 there is an ampersand ("&") between the URL parameters preventing it from working properly.

Please Note: When manually changing "&" to "?" in the URL the component recognizes the additional URL parameter as it should.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Install PUM 37
2. Navigate to Project Costing Workcenter
3. Click "Add tab of the Component" link
4. Parameter is not added.
