Symptoms

On the Browse Course Catalog, Course Search Results page (SSR_BRWSCAT_ES_FL), when clicking the link for a course in the list of results, the user is signed out of the application, with the following error displayed on the login page:

The issue does not occur in single-portal environments, or if there is only one result returned in the list in a multi-portal environment. If there is > 1 result returned in the list, in a multi-portal environment, the URL on the login page, after the error has occurred, will indicate a different URL/portal compared to the portal being used on the application page, prior to the error.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. In a multi-portal environment, sign in to Student Homepage, then click Manage Classes > Class Search and Enroll.
  2. Enter subject or subject and catalog number to produce a list with > 1 result.
  3. Click into the course link for one of the returned results and note the return to the login page with the error message.
