Dependent/Beneficiary Being Added with Incorrect Effective Date in Fluid Self Service Benefit Enrollment When Employee First Adds Beneficiary for a Plan Through Benefit Summary (Doc ID 2888464.1)

Last updated on MAY 31, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM eBenefits - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

New hires have 2 events - one to enroll in default plans (for example, basic life, retirement, leave) and the other to enroll in voluntary plans. The Event for the default plans is processed through to finalization immediately. If the new hire navigates to the Benefits Summary tile, then from within the Benefit Summary tile adds a dependent/beneficiary, the Effective Date of the addition of the dependent is the current date. If, however, without logging out of the system and back in, the employee then selects the Benefits Enrollment tile to make elections for the Event with the voluntary plans and tries to add another dependent, it also uses the current date as the Effective Date rather than using the Event Date.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

     1. A new hire navigates to Employee Self Service homepage > Benefits Summary tile.
     2. The employee selects the tile for a Plan Type that requires/allows beneficiaries.
     3. The employee selects the Add Beneficiary button.
     4. The employee add a beneficiary.
     5. The Effective Date of the beneficiary's record is the current date.
     6. The employee exits the Benefit Summary and selects the Benefit Enrollment tile.
     7. The employee selects the tile for a Plan Type which allows dependents.
     8. The employee then tries to add another dependent.
     9. The Effective Date of the dependent's record is the current date.
