E-IB: Getting "java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException" Error Testing an Inbound SOAP Web Service Using SendMaster (Doc ID 2892114.1)

Symptoms

While testing a PeopleTools delivered SOAP web service using SendMaster, the following errors are seen in the command prompt window from which SendMaster was started.
 



Sample Environment:

PeopleTools 8.59.08
HCM 9.20

 

The issue can be reproduced using the following steps:

1. Log into PIA, and navigate to the PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Web Services > Generate SOAP Template.
2. Generate the SOAP Template for the request message, and copy it to a file.
3. Start SendMaster utility using StartSendMaster.bat, and create a new "Input File" project.
4. Enter the SOAP endpoint URL, and add the http header entries.
5. Use the "Open the input file" functionality in SendMaster to open the file containing the SOAP request.
4. Post the request, and observe the errors above in the command prompt window.
