EPY: W-2 Form, Boxes 14 Created By Customer Are Not Lined Up. (Doc ID 2892362.1)

Last updated on APRIL 15, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On W-2 Forms, boxes 14 created by customer, the amount fields are not lined up, depending on the number of characters defined in the Box Print Parameters for the field name.

The same does not happen when Boxes 14 are delivered by Oracle.

According to the Year End Guide, there is a limit of five characters for each box 14 description, set by the amount of space available for printing on the W-2, but some of the Oracle delivered are longer than That.

Some examples: Box 14M - NY SDI (6 characters), 14O - NY PFL (6 characters), 14Q, 14S, 14L, 14Q. All of these are Oracle delivered and are more than 5 characters.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1- Navigate to Payroll for North America > U.S. Annual Processing > Define Annual Tax Reporting > Tax Form Definitions.
2 - Select W-2 Form.
3 - Add the effective date and Boxes 14UA and 14Y with print text with different  number of characters.
4 - Print W-2 forms.
