Symptoms

The Calculate Inflation process (AMDPINFL) does not calculate inflation correctly after an accumulated depreciation adjustment. Review Inflation history is showing incorrect amounts for DPR and PER transaction types for some of the periods.

Replication Steps:

  1. Go To Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Install > Installation Options - Asset Management. The inflation Trans field is chosen as 'INF' and the Inflation check box is checked under Features.
  2. Go To Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Business Unit Related > Asset Management > Asset Management Definition - Business Unit/ Book Feature. Enable Inflation Processing. Select Calculation Type as 'Argentina Adjustments'
  3. Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Product Related > Asset Management > Profiles > Asset Profiles -. Open the Profile, Go to the Depreciation tab and click on the Inflation Information link and review that the Market Rate Index and Rate Type are populated correctly.
  4. Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Market Rates > Market Rates - Review market rates.
  5. Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Product Related > Asset Management> Accounting > AM Accounting Entry Templates. Make sure accounting entry templates are defined for INF transaction type.
  6. Asset Management> Asset Transactions> Owned Assets> Express Add. Add a new asset for the amount of 1,000,000. Transaction and accounting date 23/JAN/19 (make sure your calendars are open for that period), depreciate it in 60 periods, AM. Use appropriate profile and category.
  7. Run Calculate Depreciation (AM_DEPR_CALC) ,  Create Accounting Entries (AM_AMAEDIST), Close Depreciation (AM_DPCLOSE), and Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Calculate Inflation process (AMDPINFL) up to Apr 2019.
  8. Asset Management > Depreciation > Processing > Adjust Accumulated Depr - Perform an accumulated depreciation adjustment for the main book as of May 2019. Save.
  9. Run Calculate Depreciation (AM_DEPR_CALC) and Close Depreciation (AM_DPCLOSE) for May 2019.
  10. Run AMDPINFL for the period of May 2019. The Process finishes successfully.
  11. Asset Management > Asset Transactions > History > Review Inflation Review Inflation for May-2019. COST/DPR values are calculated correctly for the period May-19 but the PER value is showing as negative. This is incorrect.
  12. Run AMDPCLOSE and inflation calculation process (AMDPINFL) for period 6 to 12 2019. Only the COST line is calculated correctly. DPR and PER are miscalculated. This is incorrect.
