EEX 9.2: Error Messages Faced in DB2 Database Platform When Scheduling the Build of Expenses Related Kibana Search Definitions (Doc ID 2895361.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Index Search Documents process (PTSF_GENFEED AE Program) seems to complete in Success, but when reviewing the logs, Error Messages are found at the Message Log level for the Expenses related Search Definitions below:

    - EP_EX_SRCH_PERF_OPR_KIB - Expense Performance Analytics     (Based on Connected Query EX_SRCH_PERF_OPR_KIB_CQ)
    - EP_EX_SRCH_EMP_EXCP_KIB - Employee Exception Analytics     (Based on Connected Query EX_SRCH_EMP_EXCP_KIB_CQ)
    - EP_EX_SRCH_RISK_EXCP_KIB - Expense Exception Analytics     (Based on Connected Query EX_SRCH_RISK_EXCP_KIB_CQ)

As such, the system fails to build the Search Indexes needed for Kibana Analytics. This problem seems to be specific to DB2 Database Platform, due to the logic the Connected Query is being delivered with, which seems incompatible with such platform.

REPLICATION STEPS:

1.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as a System Administrator User
2.- Navigate to: PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration > Schedule Search Indexes
3.- Create a new Run Control ID, with the below settings:
              a) Search Instance = PTSF_DEFAULT
              b) Search Definition = EP_EX_SRCH_PERF_OPR_KIB
              c) Indexing Type = Full
              d) Language Option = Base Language
    4.- Click on Run button
5.- Select the PTSF_GENFEED AE Program, and click OK button
6.- Navigate to: PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Process Monitor
7.- Find the Process Instance at hand for the PTSF_GENFEED AE Program, and confirm it completed in Success
8.- Click on the Detail link
9.- Click on the Message Log link
10.-Confirm the log contains an Error Message
    11.- Re-do steps 3 through 10, but changing 3-b value with Search Definition EP_EX_SRCH_EMP_EXCP_KIB
    12.- Re-do steps 3 through 10, but changing 3-b value with Search Definition EP_EX_SRCH_RISK_EXCP_KIB

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.
