Goal
The Student Financials 3C notification for Bank and Direct Deposit is dependent on the Event ID, which is keyed by Institution. SF Installation Notification Options allow a lookup on the Institution field, which is required for the Event ID to be defined and triggered. The institution is not associated with the emplid who will be the recipient of the notification.
The limitation in this design is that only one institution value can be defined on the SF Installation page. For at least one school that has multiple institutions sharing the same database, this limitation has raised a couple potential concerns:
- The event notification might not be triggered for a student enrolled in one of the institutions other than the one specified on the SF installation page.
- Even if the notification is appropriately triggered, it may not be possible to identify and determine the actual institution that sent the notification (since all notifications would be sent with the same institution value).
Is there any method which would allow the event notification to be assigned with the actual institution value pertinent to each emplid? For example, could one of the fields on the OPR_DEF_TBL table (user defaults) possibly be leveraged for this purpose?
